Food preparation and hygiene workshops
In 2018 we supported two sets of workshops to help homeless and vulnerably-housed individuals to learn more about the preparation of basic food, good nutrition and food hygiene. Using surplus fresh produce gleaned from our base, the workshops were conducted by Sandra Ruge and Marie Lehri of Waste2Taste. With the help of the Ark-T Centre we have received funding for Waste2Taste to carry out a further four sets of workshops in their new cafe space through 2019.
We are very pleased to be part of this new initiative to help people understand how simple fresh ingredients can be turned into good nutritious meals. These workshops also provide invaluable guidance and training that can lead to employment opportunities.
Watch Sandra and Marie being interviewed by That’s Oxfordshire about the new cafe in Ark-T and their next set of workshops.
